2008 Midwest Reproductive Justice Leadership Institute!
May 2, 2008,
The Midwest Reproductive Justice Leadership Institute is an intense, three-day training in grassroots activism that helps students develop skills to mobilize our communities for reproductive justice. Each year, 25 students and young pro-choice activists across the country are selected for the program. The Midwest RJLI will be held in Chicago, IL, and all travel, hotel, and meal expenses are covered by the Institute. There is no cost to participants.
At the RJLI, you can expand your knowledge of reproductive justice issues, learn strategies for activism, develop organizing skills, and network with other young people committed to reproductive justice in your area.
In workshops and strategy sessions with experts from progressive movements, you'll get up-to-date facts about legislation and reproductive health worldwide; learn fundamental organizing skills like public education, fundraising, lobbying, working with the media, and opposition research; and develop a plan of action to take back to your campus or community. As a graduate of the Reproductive Justice Leadership Institute, you will return to your community with a network of fellow pro-choice activists and the longterm support of Choice USA staff, who will help you implement your strategies for change.
The application deadline is April 1, 2008.
